STINK CHILD COMICS UPDATE 3-31-2008

New STINK CHILD COMICS

New SCC in TOON TOWN

New WIIK SAUCE

Don’t have a whole lot to say today. I’ve been working like a fiend on comics trying to work ahead. I got all these (and a couple more) done on Saturday so GO ME!

EDIT!

I forgot to mention that Chris, Da Matt and I did a new Stinkast! We’re hoping to be better about doing them. And this one is so much better quality than the last ones it’s not even funny.

STINK CHILD COMICS UPDATE 3-28-2008

New STINK CHILD COMICS

New SCC in TOON TOWN

New WIIK SAUCE

OK, at the hospital where I work, in case of a fire, there are these large metal fire-resistant doors all over the place. When I got to work today all of these doors in the basement were closed up. But there were no alarms and everyone was going on with their day so I figured I would just go on with my day as well. I went through one pair of doors. Then through a second. And I see the door to the morgue is wide open.

Just my luck. I missed the zombies.

Something else I wanted to say, a little more serious than usual. I just thought I’d bring it up because this particular item helped me out again tonight. This will probably take quite a few people off guard because most know me as not a religious person. Anyway…

In 2005, I was flying back to Arizona from a trip home to Portland. There’s something of a rule that when you see a cute girl in the terminal you will NOT sit next to her on your flight. I managed to break this rule. I got to sit next to this really cheerful girl with curly hair who oddly enough introduced herself before she sat down. That kind of took me off guard as cute chicks don’t talk to me. We just started talking, she told me about being in Oregon for some hiking/camping trip that said to a sickly inner-city kid like myself “Hay fever and sun burns” I told her about going to animation school and doing the web comic, this is when SCC was still in it’s infancy. She then told me that she was flying to Arizona to catch another flight to meet her boyfriend in Texas…boyfriend…fucking figures..anyway.

I fell asleep half way through the flight, waking up when they were announcing the landing in Phoenix. I look next to me and she’s hunched over, writing something on this small box in her lap, as we couldn’t have our tray tables down at this point. The plane lands and she gets up. She looks back to me and says “You seemed like you could use this. Nice meeting you, Mike.” And handed me this small business card looking thing. I politely thanked her, said it was nice to meet her too, and we parted ways. I looked at the card and it had come bible verse on it. At the time I kinda rolled my eyes and stuck it in my pocket, figuring I would throw it away later.

I got to my apartment and was cleaning out my pockets when the card fell out. I looked it over again and say there was writing on the back. It said “Dear Mike, It was nice to meet you. Good luck w/ everything. Just remember that there’s someone looking out for you =) God Bless. Sincerely, Shelly P.S. In all things - Pray!” I thought about throwing it away then but for some reason I couldn’t. I stuck it in my wallet with my other cards, ID, and bullshit that goes in there.

I brought this up because tonight I was feeling kinda crappy and I found it, read it and I remembered how this complete stranger wanted to help someone who was clearly troubled, find a path. Even though it was a religious one. I find some comfort it the fact that there are people out there who aren’t plagued with anxiety and depression, who can always have a smile on their face and want to spread that joy to everyone else

So even though she’ll likely never see this. For helping this angry, cynical nerd have something to bring him out of the dark from time to time. Thank you, Shelly.

STINK CHILD COMICS UPDATE 3-26-2008

New STINK CHILD COMICS

New SCC in TOON TOWN

New WIIK SAUCE

It’s been brought to my attention that the site doesn’t work well on Internet Explorer. We’re trying to fix that problem. But you IE users can’t see this anyway so saying this doesn’t really matter.

Chris, Da Matt and Myself tried to record a new Stinkast last night. But we were using an expired trial version of Wiretap Studio. In the recording every five seconds it would say “This has been recorded using a trail version of Wiretap,” making it unusable. We were pissed. I’ve bought a real copy of Wiretap now though, so we should be able to bring the Stinkast back soon.

We’ve also successfully  used the timestamp on the comics as I sat down and got the rest of the weeks SCC comics done and I have them uploaded to the wordpress site. You can see the latest one now, because it worked, and you’ll be able to see the other one on Friday.

I think that’s all for now. But we’re still looking for comments from fans! Say something! ANYTHING!

NEW STINK CHILD COMICS!

New STINK CHILD COMICS

New WIIK SAUCE

NEW WEBPAGE!

Check it out! Chris put in a lot of effort to redo this front page so it looks all awesome. We’re still playing with it, as we are with all the pages. Anyone who does a web comic can tell you that your web page is constantly a work in progress. So we’re still planning on adding some stuff, changing some layout stuff, but this is pretty much what it’ll look like.

I think it looks awesome.

Tell us what you think! As now we have user comments on the Front Page blogs, as well as on every comic page! You don’t need to sign up for anything or do any of that. We encourage any and all feedback on the comics and the page. So please feel free to say whatever you want.

That’s all for right now.

Welcome To The All New Stink Child Comics!

The internet is a temperamental bitch.

While working on the PHP code to get this WordPress hub working, I missed typing in one slash…one single /… and the whole thing died. Just up and died.

Regardless, its working now (as you can clearly see), and since I made it, I get to write the first post (yay?). This has been the better part of my first week of unemployment (now I get to start looking for one of those jobs that pays), but I say its well worth it. There’s still a little more tweaking to be taken care of, but nothing too strenuous, and all the bugs should get worked out pretty quickly.

Skwerl should have the new comics up soon. Hope you guys enjoy the new look. We’re not done yet (new images to be made, etc. etc.) but for the most part, this is the all new SCC homepage.

–Chris

Edit–

After much debate, we’ve changed the front page font.  Black on green with this face just makes me think of an old Commodore.  And that’s kinda awesome.  Leave comments and let us know what you think!!!
