R.I.P George Carlin

Stink Child Comics #107 SCC in Toon Town #108 Wiik Sauce #108

I was working on today's comics when I was informed of the unfortunate news that one of the best stand-up comedians of all time had passed away. George Carlin.

I remember being a youngling, watching "Thomas the Tank Engine" where he was Mr. Conductor. It was kind of a jarring shock to turn on one of his specials and hear the profanity laden, anti-everything rants. However, after the initial shock of hearing the benevolent Mr Conductor yelling "COCKSUCKER" I quickly learned what a comedic genius he truly was, and I believe that was also the beginning part of my love for the art of stand-up and comedy itself.

According to reports he was taken to the hospital yesterday, complaining of chest pains, and passed away later in the day of heart failure at 71 years old. With his history of drug use and heart attacks, it's a wonder he lived to 71.

Saddened by the news of his passing, I feel I should thank him for the years of laughter. His work has inspired many of the current, younger generation of comedians, and, in-part my own work.

We'll miss you George. And thanks again.

RIP George Carlin
